The Ancients were a group which predated the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic. The group was based on an unidentified planet in the Kaldar Trinary system. They created the war machine Skara Nal, an ancient four-legged droidwalker armed with a superlaser, that was eventually buried on the planet where they were based on previously. The Ancients kept Skara Nal inert by using the Heart of the Mountain, an ancient crystal. The group also created a compass to locate Skara Nal and navigate through the various booby traps in the underground tunnels leading to Skara Nal. By 19 BBY, the group was shrouded in mystery with one of their creations, Skara Nal, becoming a pirate legend.

The planet appeared in the Star Wars: The Bad Batchsecond season episode «Entombed,» released on January 25, 2023.
