Obi-Wan Kenobi Detail That We All Missed (EU connection) 1

Could this really be the first CANON Appearance of Corran Horn!? We think so!

So Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 1 and 2 recently dropped and we were all busy arguing over how the Grand Inquisitor could have “Died” or how awesome it is to see Alderaan again… But Lucasfilm may have just slipped a huge old EU reference into the show without any of us noticing. So hit that subscribe button down below and let’s break it down.

When Obi-Wan travels to the planet Daiyu to rescue young Leia, he comes across this very dodgy “fake Jedi” character known as Haja Estree, who is literally just using magnets and wires to scam people into thinking he’s a Jedi and can help them get off planet safely… Although he does have a good heart when it comes down to business. **But anyway, the first mother he scams in the episode has a young boy with her, and he just happens to have the name Corran.**

Now if you’re familliar with Star Wars Legends, you’ll know that Corran Horn was a renowned master of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi order. Corran was actually nervous about people know he was becoming a Jedi because, so he completely digusised himself with a fresh goatee and dyed his hair blond. Either way… He also served in the legendary Rogue Squadron as a starfighter pilot, and would be just about the right age at this point in the timeline, 9BBY. Importantly however, Corran Horn was born on the planet Corellia in core of the Galaxy. This is important because in the episode, the location where Naja Estree is giving them passage to is also Corellia. Now, I’d usually chalk this up to a bit of a nod and an easter egg, and nothing more, but there has just been another piece of information revealed.

According to the IMDB page for the Episode, Corran’s mother is listed as Nyche, the same name Corran Horn’s mother had in Star Wars: Legends. And yes, anyone can edit Imdb pages, but if you look at the history of the page, it was added before the show came out. This points to someone on the production team, or the actress herself updating her page.
