Cad bane is to put it simply, one of the greatest bounty hunters to ever walk the face of the Galaxy. He was feared among the criminal elite of the Galaxy and even caused great concern among the Jedi Order as he was a renowned Jedi killer, without a shred of remorse. He was even great friends with Jango Fett before his death, coming together to form one of the most expensive bounty hunting units ever seen. But why did he wear breathing tubes on all of his missions, when many of his fellow hunters did not? Well the answer is honestly awesome and will make it clear that you do not mess with Cad Bane.
Right at the beginning of his bounty hunting Journey, Cad Bane knew that he wasn’t going to make it very far relying simply on a blaster and some quick thinking. He was never arrogant enough to believe he was invincible, like many other bounty hunters were. As a result of this belief, Cad Bane began to gear himself up with weapons, armor and utility items from a variety of different warrior cultures to aid him in his journey.
One of these a pair of stolen Mandalorian vambraces for his arms, containing electro stunners and a flame thrower. In fact most of Cad Bane’s gear was designed to directly counter the abilities of force users, with his rocket boots imitating force jumps and his stunners imitating force lightning. Most of this gear was derived from Mandalorian culture, which Cad Bane had a deep respect for. After all, they were the best known Jedi hunters in the galaxy, with a shocking amount of equipment designed directly to counter force users.
But the most important of these anti-jedi devices though are his cybernetic breathing tubes. Now you may be thinking, wait Cad Bane is a member of the Duros species who breathe normal air. So why does he need breathing tubes on most planets? Well the answer is pretty surprising, but fits perfectly with his anti jedi philosophy. They are intended to prevent him from being force choked by Jedi… ore even Sith for that matter. These tubes are able to direct oxygen directly into Cad Bane’s facial pores, allowing him to bypass his throat.
