Shortly after the battle of Endor and the fall of the Galactic Empire, Dengar got into a brawl with a young bounty hunter named Mercurial Swift on Corellia. Instead of trying to kill the young hunter, Dengar decided to teach him the ways of bounty hunting and how to keep himself alive in the business.

Mercurial swift however refused this advice and called dengar “old and ineffective”, before continuing the fight. Dengar then took the advantage, holding his particle ray gun to Mercurial’s head and warning him to leave, but Dengar was distracted by the young hunter shouting “Boba Fett”, causing him to turn around.

At this point it was now mercurial holding his blaster to Dengar’s head, but he refused to take the shot since there was no bounty on the old hunter’s head… Finally, Dengar warned the young kid that times are changing for bounty hunters with the new Republic now in charge and that us bounty hunters should stick together…
