Culisetto were a sentientspecies of small, tube-mouthed insectoids that fed off of blood and also wore traditional brown travelling smocks. The Dengue sisters were members of this species as well as the bounty hunter Vorhdeilo.

Culisetto were created for Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which was released in 2015. The aliens were not identified in the film, but received a name in Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo and released the same day as the film’s release. The name «Culisetto» was inspired by the species’ resemblance to mosquitoes, with the Culiseta being a real genus of mosquitoes.

The Culisetto were a group of small, tube mouthed, insect-like creatures which fed on the blood of terrified humans. The Culisetto travelled across the galaxy and had pretty normal lives, unless they were hungry. At that point, they would search tirelessly for victims, before murdering them and drinking their blood. Rumor has it that when a person was scared, they would make a culisetto hungry, and more eager to drink their blood.
