In this Star Wars news update, we look at a the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series and why we are worried about it based on the Lucasfilm team working on it. The live-action Star Wars Disney+ series is set to be released in 2022 along with the Mandalorian Season 3 and the Ahsoka Tano series featuring Rosario Dawson who also played her in the Mandalorian Season 2 – according to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau!
We also discuss why I’m worried about the state of the Star Wars franchise, especially in the wake of poor creative choices for the Rise of Skywalker and the Sequel trilogy on the whole, the firing of Gina Carano and so on.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi Series is an upcoming Star Wars, Lucasfilm and Disney+ series that was announced by Kathleen Kennedy during Disney Investor Day 2020. It is set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and will be the rematch of the century between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. Hayden Christensen has been cast to reprise his role as newly anointed Darth Vader in the wake of the creation of the Galactic Empire under the rule of Darth Sidious. The series will feature Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan during his exile on Tatooine.
