In this Star Wars news update, we talk about a big rumor for Obi-Wan Kenobi – that we might get a Darth Vader project with Hayden Christensen. It’s reported that for May 4th, there may also be a tease for the Kenobi series. We also talk about Ewan McGregor who spoke recently with The Hollywood Reporter about lightsabers, the Prequel Trilogy, the Star Wars fandom, George Lucas and more. I then explore how the Sequels failed in their handling of lightsaber duels with Rey and Kylo Ren and why Lucasfilm through Deborah Chow, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau need to detach themselves from the sequel trilogy and focus more on the content we want as fans like Luke Skywalker in the Mandalorian Season 2 finale.
We also discuss Star Wars Day – May 4th celebration and what we might expect! If we do get a Darth Vader show, it should show the Vader comics in live-action with Dr Aphra and more! The new Darth Vader Star Wars comic takes him to Exegol with Emperor Palpatine – he discovers his cloning plans and we see a variety of Snoke clones in tanks like we saw in the Rise of Skywalker and in the Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 12 «The Siege» with Cara Dune (Gina Carano). It could tie into the sequel trilogy and involve Grogu – Baby Yoda whose blood Moff Gideon and potentially Grand Admiral Thrawn are after.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi Series is an upcoming Star Wars, Lucasfilm and Disney+ series that was announced by Kathleen Kennedy during Disney Investor Day 2020. It is set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and will be the rematch of the century between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. Hayden Christensen has been cast to reprise his role as newly anointed Darth Vader in the wake of the creation of the Galactic Empire under the rule of Darth Sidious. The series will feature Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan during his exile on Tatooine. The next instalment of Star Wars comes on May the 4th – the Bad Batch which is the spin-off of the Clone Wars.
