Ahsoka Series to Return to Mortis?Obi-Wan Kenobi Speculation

The Mandalorian Season 3 returns to Disney+ in 2022, with filming set to begin in April of this year according to Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. Before then, we can expect the Book of Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Bad Batch which comes to the platform on May 4th – Star Wars Day! The Ahsoka Tano spin-off series should be released next year…

In today’s Star Wars news update, we talk about exciting news for Star Wars: Ahsoka – that a new rumor states we will return to the planet of Mortis which we first saw in the Clone Wars Season 3. Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan and Ahsoka went to Mortis and Ahsoka died at the hands of the Son. When she was revived, the Daughter lived within her and Morai has been following her ever since. We saw Morai in the form of an owl in the Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 13 “The Jedi” and this could have been the set-up for the Ahsoka spin-off series. It’s believed that Lucasfilm will use elements of Colin Trevorrow’s Duel of the Fates which was the original Star Wars Episode 9.

The main plot for Ahsoka is that Rosario Dawson who is reprising her role as the live-action Togruta ex-Jedi will travel to find Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger. We don’t know where Sabine Wren is just yet but she could appear either in this show or in another series in the Mandalorian Universe. It has also been speculated that the Ahsoka show will take us to the World Between Worlds which could retcon the Sequel Trilogy or at least place it on a separate timeline from the Filoni-verse. Recently, Mena Massoud was confirmed to be cast as Ezra Bridger for the series.

Aside from Filoni/Favreau, Peyton Reed, Robert Rodriguez and Kathleen Kennedy are all confirmed to be working on the series. A month ago, we had exciting new details that confirmed Temuera Morrison will be reprising the role of Captain Rex in the series. He played Boba Fett in The Mandalorian and will play Commander Cody in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series but now we know he’ll be involved in Star Wars: Ahsoka as well. Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) will be the main antagonist for her.

We also talk about the new Alphabet Squadron book which finally tells us how the Empire eventually became the First Order through Palpatine. Finally, we discuss the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series and how Satine Kryze could appear in flashbacks. Korkie Kryze might also make a cameo as he is believed to be the love-child of Obi Wan and Duchess Satine from The Clone Wars. Speaking of the Clone Wars, the Bad Batch comes out in 2 months time!

After Gina Carano was fired from Lucasfilm by Disney, a lot of Star Wars fans have been proclaiming that Star Wars is dead with anti- Disney+ sentiments. But it isn’t and the Star Wars franchise as well as The Mandalorian will recover as a series. The Mandalorian Season 3 will be amazing and now that Cara Dune will be killed off, new characters as well as smaller ones from the show could become Mando’s new allies. Din Djarin currently wields the Darksaber and Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) wants it. It is time for heroes such as Greef Karga, Cobb Vanth, Boba Fett, Migs Mayfeld and Koska Reeves to have the spotlight and help Mando to take on Moff Gideon and the Imperial Remnant in light of the upcoming rise of the First Order.
