Two Master-Padawan teams, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, and Siri Tachi and Ferus Olin, have been sent to Andara to investigate the disappearance of Gillam Tarturi, the son of the Senator of Andara. It is believed that he was kidnapped to distract the Senator from the political problems in his home system, possibly with the help of a young squad of mercenaries thought to be based at Andara’s elite Leadership School – the same school Gillam disappeared from. Jedi undercover agents Anakin and Ferus enroll as transfer students at the school, Anakin supposedly on a scholarship and Ferus as the son of a high Mid-Rim official. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan and Siri investigate the ongoing Andaran system political struggle.
