How many suits did Darth Vader have? Was he stuck permanently inside the one suit, or did he have multiple suits that he could easily swap in to? In this video, we’ll attempt to shed light on this long-debated topic, and we’ll also explore the design differences in each movie… In Revenge of the Sith, we witness the cybernetic limbs being welded to Anakin’s charred body… This suggests that it would be difficult for Vader to easily jump into a new suit, and the procedure would be no doubt complicated. In the Star Wars extended universe, we’ve seen Vader battle damaged multiple times, so it would make sense that he can at least replace certain parts, such as the helmet and chest armour… Anyway, let’s start with the movies. Every episode has a slightly different version of the Vader suit. This doesn’t mean that Vader has multiple suits. It’s more likely that the costume team were just trying to refine the design, and were hoping that the general public would not notice a difference…but this is Star Wars…
