While Darth Vader is still my favourite Star Wars villain, it’s Palpatine who embodies being pure evil. Darth Vader may be my favourite, but it’s Sidious who is the greatest Star Wars villain ever. He betrays and kills his own master, he manipulates the ENTIRE Republic all while rising to power, he was the puppet behind all the wars in the Clone Wars, he managed to lead Anakin into the temptations of turning to the Dark Side and he ruled the Empire for many years! He does NOT show mercy, and will consider you expendable once he finds someone younger and stronger and he is not above torture just for the fun of it. Seeing the greatest Star Wars villain ever returning does bring a smile to my face indeed.
