Yet more amazing news for Star Wars fans comes in the form of Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, who swaps Disney’s Marvel universe for a galaxy far, far away to executive produce and write an allnew live-action Star Wars television series for Disney’s forthcoming subscription streaming service. Favreau, who provided the voice of Pre Vizla in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and also has a role in Solo: A Star Wars Movie, said in press release accompanying the Lucasfi lm announcement, “If you told me at 11 years old that I would be getting to tell stories in the Star Wars universe, I wouldn’t have believed you. I can’t wait to embark upon this exciting adventure.” Lucasfi lm president Kathleen Kennedy was equally enthusiastic, saying, “Jon brings the perfect mix of producing and writing talent, combined with a fl uency in the Star Wars universe.” She added, “This series will allow Jon the chance to work with a diverse group of writers and directors and give Lucasfi lm the opportunity to build a robust talent base.” A launch date for Disney’s directto- consumer platform, and the as-yetuntitled Star Wars live-action series, has yet to be announced.
