Star Wars: Episode IX Casting Keri Russell in Mystery Role
Variety is reporting that Keri Russell is in early talks to be cast in Star Wars: Episode IX directed by J.J. Abrams. Russell first came to promise in the 90s TV show Felicity which was a smash hit and ran for four seasons. Since that show ended, she has received raves for her work on Film and TV in such projects as Waitress, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Free State of Jones and, of course, FX’s The Americans. Abrams, who is also writing the movie, would be reuniting with Russell who he directed in a small but pivotal role in Mission: Impossible III. There’s no word yet on what role she will be playing, but there were casting notices for a “Mara” character that leaked earlier this year and the Variety report says that the role will call for “heavy action scenes”. Anything is possible at this point. Jeff Sneider and John Rocha sit down to comment on this casting news and what it means for the last installment of this latest Star Wars trilogy. They speculate if she is the right choice for the role and what about her recent acting work gets them excited to see what she can do in this film. They also speculate about who she might be playing in the film. Remember to COMMENT and let us know what you think about this news and LIKE and SHARE this video on your social media.
