Armand Isard was a human male high-ranking official of the Galactic Republic and later the Galactic Empire, as well as a member of Emperor Sheev Palpatine’s inner circle. He served as Director of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order.
Armand Isard was a human male who served in the Galactic Republic prior and during the Clone Wars, eventually serving as the Director of the Senate Bureau of Intelligence. When the Republic transformed into the Galactic Empire, Isard became part of Emperor Palpatine’s inner circle, and served as the Director of the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order.
As a rebel cell operated by Berch Teller began to cause problems, Isard attended a meeting or the Joint Chiefs of the Imperial military on Coruscant. During the meeting, Isard tried to speak, but was interrupted by a junior officer who reported the rebel attack on Lucazec.
Armand Isard first appeared in Star Warscanon in James Luceno‘s 2014 novel Tarkin. Before that, Armand Isard first appeared in Timothy Zahn‘s and Michael A. Stackpole‘s 1999Star Wars Legends short story Interlude at Darkknell. Isard’s inclusion in Tarkin by Luceno was because he fit into a role that was part of the story Luceno was writing, hence his inclusion rather than the invention of some new character.
