ne of the more prevalent gaming rumors in the past few years for fans of Star Wars has been whispers of a remaster for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The 2003 Star Wars RPG is often considered as one of the greatest RPGs of all time, and a remaster of the classic has been long-requested by fans. Today, during the PlayStation Showcase 2021, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Lucasfilm Games, and Aspyr confirmed that they’re working together to create Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, a full rebuild of the original with vast improvements to every aspect.
While we don’t have a release date at the moment (the project is apparently very early in development), Star Wars: KOTOR Remake is officially happening, and it’s coming to PC platforms and PS5. The title was announced as a PS5 console launch exclusive, meaning it won’t release on Xbox right away. However, a future release on Xbox Series X|S is not entirely out of the question, though players may just have to wait for a while to see it.
