In the days following the Call of Order 66 by chancellor Palpatine, many specialized groups of clone commandos were formed, and were given the primary goal of hunting down and executing surviving Jedi. One specific group, Imperial Commando Squad 40 was formed shortly after Order 66 and placed under Vader’s 501st legion, specializing in tracking down Jedi in some of the harvest environments possible, including Coruscant’s Underworld. While on one of their standard missions hunting down Jedi survivors, a monumental mistake was made by one of the Clone Troopers, leading him to accidentally kill a civilian. This left the trooper filled with so much guilt and regret for his action that he did something unthinkable. So, let’s find out how this trooper accidentally killed a civilian, and what he did after.
Squad 40 was personally created by Palpatine after the creation of the Galactic empire, as he hoped to have a specialized squad of clones to deal with the threat of surviving Jedi. the squad was made up the remnants of the Omega Squad, as well as the Galaar squad of Clone Commandos, on top of including the most elite surviving Clone Commandos from the war.
