Return of the Jedi: Beware the Power of the Dark Side! is a canon junior novel written by Tom Angleberger, author of the Origami Yoda series. The novelization adapts the film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, and it was first published on September 22, 2015 by Disney–Lucasfilm Press.
Regarding writing the book, Angleberger stated that «if there’s anything better than writing Origami Yoda, it’s writing [this adaptation].» Angleberger planned for the novel to be «funny at times, but never at the expense of the story,» and he hoped it would capture the excitement he had when he saw the film on the big screen.
