The recent thread about Darth Vader had me thinking about how competent Vader actually was at being a villain. He’s treated as somewhat of a high ranking soldier in the A New Hope and becomes a… how do I say this… a more «marketable» character by the time the original trilogy finishes. He has never accomplished anything as evil as blowing up Alderaan in the first movie establishes how evil he is.
