Director Orson Krennic’s negotiations with the gem-rich planet of Harreld have hit a standstill. Its leader, Harqque, refuses to allow the Empire to mine its rare kyber deposits for use in the Death Star’s deadly super-laser. When the Emperor learns of Krennic’s failure, he sends his most trusted acolyte—Darth Vader—to pry the kyber from Harreld by any means necessary.
The story is set shortly before the events of Rogue One (around 1 BBY) and focuses on Vader acting as the Empire’s ultimate enforcer when diplomacy fails. It features the first appearance of Harqque (leader of the kyber-rich planet Harreld).
Context
This is the final installment in Marvel’s 2026 Rogue One anniversary one-shot series (previous issues focused on other characters from the film, such as Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, Saw Gerrera, and Chirrut Îmwe/Baze Malbus). Each one-shot is a standalone story. A trade paperback collecting the series is planned.
