Classic Star Wars: A New Hope #1–2 (1994) is a two-issue prestige-format miniseries published by Dark Horse Comics.
It reprints the original Marvel Comics adaptation of the 1977 film Star Wars (later subtitled A New Hope), which was originally released as Star Wars #1–6 in 1977 (written by Roy Thomas, with art primarily by Howard Chaykin).
These were newly colored and presented in a higher-quality prestige format aimed at giving the classic 1977 adaptation a fresh look for 1990s readers. The original Marvel run adapted the movie (with some differences and expansions typical of the era’s comics) and continued into original stories afterward.
This is distinct from Dark Horse’s longer Classic Star Wars newspaper-strip reprint series (the Goodwin/Williamson strips). The 1994 A New Hope issues specifically re-present the film adaptation.
