Why Does Luthen Have the Jedi Temple Keystone from Rebels!? 1

In the latest episode of Star Wars: Andor, we get a look inside of Luthen Rael’s rare and unique anitiques shop. Obviously, this is only a front for his rebel activities, but inside, he actually has one of the most important and galaxy-changing artefacts in Star Wars… So why does he have it and why is he displaying it in public?

So if you look carefully in one of the shots where Kleya is showing Mon Mothma’s new driver around, you can actually see the notrious Lothal Jedi Temple Keystone… Just in case you don’t know, this ancient artefact was seen in the final episodes of Star Wars rebels, and is connected to the Gods of Mortis, also called the Ones. This family of force wielders consists of the Father, representing balance, the Son representing the Dark and the Daughter representing the light. In rebels, a mural of their family also guarded the mystical entrance to a realm known as the world between worlds. In this realm, there is no space or time. Voices from the future, the past and the present rang out to Ezra bridger and he was able to visit any point in history or the future…

Using this power, Ezra bridger was able to pull Ahsoka Tano out of certain death, preventing Darth Vader from killing her… So why does Luthen Rael have this artefact, and why is it literally sitting out in public where anyone can see it… Well the first and most obvious answer is that he simply doesn’t know it’s significance. He is an antiques dealer, but maybe it’s purely just a front and he has no knowledge of artefacts and relics. This is primarily a base of operations for his rebellion afterall…

Another more interesting theory is that Luthen is a hidden Jedi who doesn’t quite understand what the keystone does, but realizes how significant it might be. We actually have a few hints that he could be concealing his Jedi connection. The first is the bright blue Kyber crystal that he showed to Cassian. At this point in the timeline, Kyber cyrstals are virtually inacesable to anyone in the Galaxy except the empire. As we saw in the Ahsoka novel, Ilum is completely blockaded and so hard to access that Ahsoka gave up her search, and had to get her white crystals from killing an inquisitor.
