What happened when two royal guards didn’t recognize Darth vader?

In the time after Darth Vader was placed into his new suit and created his new bleeding red saber, he rushed over to the brand new Imperial Imperial palace on Coruscant, which was just the Jedi temple.

Before he arrived, Palpatine and Tarkin were discussing the progress of the death star and how it was coming along very well… That was until Palpatine’s two royal guards noticed someone approaching the throne room, leading them to raise their pikes ready to attack.

Moments later, the Dark Lord Darth Vader enters the room and announces his presence but the only person inside who knew his true identity at this point was of course Palpatine. As a result of this, the Royal guards attempted to strike the mechanical man down, but Vader retaliated harshly, smashing them into the glass behind Palpatine with immense force.

This left Tarkin terrified for his own and Palpatine’s safety, but Sidious told him not to worry and soon introduced him to Vader. This left a horrible first impression on Tarkin and led to a small rivalry between Tarkin and Vader.
