Why Commander Fox Was HATED By His Clone Brothers 1

During the Clone Wars, Clone Brothers from every single legion, battalion and squad came together to fight the onslaught of the separatist droid army across the galaxy, believing they were born to protect the republic side by side… Some Clone units however gained more hatred and disgust from their fellow clones that others. So, lets break down why the Coruscant guard were despised by the other Clones, and why Commander Fox took the brunt of the hate.

So the first reason Commander Fox gained hatred throughout the Clone Ranks was not even something he did personally, but merely the fact that he was a member of the Coruscant Guard. The coruscant guard themselves were widely disliked all the way from the the young cadets on Kamino through to the battle hardened veterans serving on the front lines of the war. As a result of this, young cadets in the training facilities of Kamino would sometimes even be bullied for dreaming of joining the elite unit because of its reputation of a laid back, easy life, compared to those troopers who were sent to the frontlines of harsh battlefields.

Troopers who dreamed of that life instead of the front lines were often seen as weak by those around them. And after that, we have the reason that many members of the Coruscant guard were pompous, elitist and just generally thought very highly of themselves because they were given the prestigious position over other clones, and because they served the Chancellor of the REpublic directly, which was Palpatine at the time. Their elitist and self-righteous attitude simply didn’t sit well with the other Clone Troopers, especially since the Guard primarily served in a military police type of role, rarely ever facing any real danger. They got to live a much easier life than pretty much all of the other Clone Troopers, on top of likely getting much more break time to visit the various Clone Bars and establishments on Coruscant. And since the Clone Troopers don’t get paid, they can just bill it all to the Republic!

Moreover, the Coruscant guard and by extension Commander Fox were severely criticised by the other troopers for having blind loyalty to Palpatine himself and carrying out any orders given to them by him, regardless of what they were. All of the Clones were trained on Kamino to have loyalty to the Republic, and serve solely to preserve it, no matter who was leading it. Many regular CTs however started to believe that the Coruscant guard were more loyal to Palpatine than the Republic, and that they were disrespecting the sacrifices made on the front lines by everyone else, who wasn’t lucky enough to be assigned to the Coruscant unit, like commander Fox Was. and this isn’t really surprising, since Palpatine chose only the most loyal and dedicated Clone Cadets from a young age to serve at the capital. Publicly, this was to keep the Senate guarded by the most highly trained and loyal clones, but privately, Palpatine wanted more control over the most talented Troopers.
