The show was announced by Kathleen Kennedy during Disney Investor Day. The upcoming live-action Disney+ show starring Diego Luna will be one of many upcoming Star Wars projects which include The Book of Boba Fett this December, The Mandalorian Season 3, Star Wars Ahsoka with Rosario Dawson, Lando and Obi-Wan Kenobi! Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are heading many of these – especially to do with the Mandoverse. The show will also connect to Star Wars Rebels and the Bad Batch with big cameos rumored.
