The Bad Batch Reveals New ORIGINAL CLONE TROOPER 1

Lucasfilm and Disney have just unveiled a brand new Original Clone Trooper who will be introduced in the upcoming episodes of the Bad Batch, and have also dropped all of the titles for the Episodes which are releasing in July… On top of that, they have also announced a massive change to the scheduling of the Bad Batch which is going to shake things up massively.

So before we break down all of this awesome new information, make sure you hit the bell button below for more Bad Batch content. So to start off, a brand new Clone Trooper was revealed and added to the Kenner Bad Batch Toy line. His name is Clone Captain Ballast, and based on his markings, he could be serving in the 501st. The colours do look slightly different to the ones we saw on Rex in the other image they released, but I’m sure it’s just the lighting of the Shot. Awesome to see a brand new Clone Trooper, original to the series finally being introduced as the Bad Batch really is all about the story of the Clones! Captain Ballast could even be one of the Clone Rex was referring to when he said that it was rare for a Clone Trooper to resist their inhibitor chips. The way he said definitely made it sound like he had seen examples of it before, and we know that he can’t be talking about Commander Wolffe or Commando Gregor because, Rex also said “i’ve never been on this side of it before”, meaning he hasn’t managed to take their chips out yet. Another awesome point to note about Captain Ballast is that his armour still has the traditional Clone Markings seen throughout the war.

This in stark contrast to most other clones serving in the new Imperial army, seeing as any armor markings were pretty much banned for Regular troopers, unless you were a member of the Coruscant or Kamino guards, which were highly prestigious positions among Clone Troopers. This was done mostly to maintain order and enhance unit cohesion among the Clones, which honestly wasn’t needed. But this is the empire, so these things are very much expected. With Captain Ballast having painted armor, this could mean the theory about him being on of the clones who resisted Order 66 is true, and he may have defected before the Empire was even created, putting him in a very similar position to Rex.
