Bad Batch Episode 1 Breakdown (Omega Female Clone, Echo) 1

After so much hype and waiting, Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 1 Episode 1 has finally released on Disney+, and it was truly packed full of references, connections and throwbacks to the other star wars content. So, I’m going to break down everything that went down in the episode and how it connects to the other Star Wars tv series, films, books and comics.

We Got Kanan Jarrus (Caleb Dume), Depa Bilaba, General Grievous, Anakin Skywalker, all scenes from Revenge of the Sith. On top of that, we were given connections ot the Kanan: The Last Padawan Comics, which was retconned, but also some new background about Omega, The Female Clone who is probably force sensisitve.

Beginning with the flashbacks we are thrown straight to the battle of Coruscant, where we see some scenes pulled directly from Revenge of the Sith. We start off on the deck of the invisible hand, where Obi-Wan and Anakin fight Grievous’ droid protection, just as we saw in Revenge of the sith, before we also see their rescue of Chancellor palpatine, as well as Grievous’ time to abandon ship.

To start off, we are thrown right into the action on the icy world of Kaller, where the Clone Forces are being led by Jedi Master Depa Bilaba who was of course a council member in the Phantom Menace, and more interestingly, is the master of the other Jedi who is here, Commander Caleb Dume. For those of you who havent’ seen Star Wars Rebels, this is Kanan Jarrus. We also unfortunately get our first major retcon of the series, with Commander Grey or CT-10-994 being demoted from Commander To captain. In the Kanan comics, he was known as commander Grey, and there was another clone who served closely with him, called Captain Styles. Now because Caleb Dume is serving as the Jedi Commander of the Battalion, it does actually make sense that Grey should be a captain, but sadly this isn’t the only retcon from that comic.
