In this Star Wars News update, we take a look at big news for Obi-Wan Kenobi. After the official set-leaks for the Kenobi series, the user who uploaded it has teased an upcoming night fight which could mean Darth Maul vs Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine. Ray Park has teased a return to Star Wars as Maul recently and it could be amazing for Star Wars prequels fans.

We also discuss the Mandalorian Season 3 and Keanu Reeves who has reportedly been cast as a new character. Fan art showed him as Darth Revan but his actual character is live-action and potentially for the Mandoverse – Star Wars Ahsoka, Rangers of the New Republic and the Book of Boba Fett- all shows announced by Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm. I also talk about how Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni want to bring back ‘dead’ characters after the amazing reception for the return of Temuera Morrison in the Mandalorian Season 2.

Finally, we talk about C-3PO and Anakin. Lucasfilm finally explained why Anakin Skywalker built C-3PO as we first saw in the Phantom Menace. The new book Skywalker: Family At War mi Skywalker gives insight as to why Threepio was constructed. It involves Shmi Skywalker, Anakin and his destiny before he was taken by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi from Tatooine to ultimately fall to the dark side and become Darth Vader.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi Series is an upcoming Star Wars, Lucasfilm and Disney+ series that was announced by Kathleen Kennedy during Disney Investor Day 2020. It is set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and will be the rematch of the century between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. Hayden Christensen has been cast to reprise his role as newly anointed Darth Vader in the wake of the creation of the Galactic Empire under the rule of Darth Sidious (Emperor Palpatine). The series will feature Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan during his exile on Tatooine.
