As half of the Jedi envoy fall, seemingly to their deaths, the others dive in for a quick rescue. Now aware of the Red Iaro treachery, the Jedi return to the palace, just in time. As they expected, the Lannikprince is being held hostage, and his captors have let a pair of ferocious akk dogs loose on him. While the Jedi incapacitate the dogs, the terrorist leader attempts to escape via jetpack, but is sucked into the engine of one of the podracers. Mace Windu, upset at the exploitation of the akks, which come from his homeworld of Haruun Kal, sets out to find the smugglers responsible.
