Elevated in 2019 to an official holiday by the California Legislature, May 4 is known as Star Wars Day, date in which fans of this saga traditionally celebrate the movies, series and culture associated with The War of the galaxies.
The celebration is a play on words with the famous phrase «May the Force be with you» (May the Force Be With You) with the way to write the date of May 4 in English (May the Fourth). The first Star Wars Day took place in 2011, in Toronto, Canada. Here are some ways to celebrate the event.
In 2019 the celebration of Star Wars Day has a special relevance because this year Star Wars premieres: The Rise of Skywalker, Episode IX that concludes the story of the Skywalker family in the saga. In addition, the Galaxy’s Edge themed area is opened at the Disneyland (California) and Walt Disney World (Florida) parks; and at the end of the year will be released the first Star Wars television series with actors, The Mandalorian, in the future platform of streaming Disney + (Disney Plus).
