Did Mando forge a Beskar Lightsaber hilt for Grogu? What did the Armorer make for Grogu out of the Beskar spear?
After returning to the brand new Children of the Watch covert on the ringworld of Glavis, Mando was told that only three members of his tribe remained. The armorer, Paz Vizsla and himself. He still however wanted to honor the other member of clan Mudhorn Grogu by forging an item out of Beskar for him, despite being off training with Luke Skywalker. But what was the item that Mando created for him? Well lets break it down.
Tragically for many of us who loved Mando’s new weapon, the armorer forced him to have it melted down and reforged because Beskar should apparently only be used for defensive purposes… Despite the whistling birds literally being made from Beskar. That can probably be explained by the fact that they aren’t strong enough to pierce Beskar plating, so aren’t a threat to other Mandalorians. The armorer only really seems concerned with the ability to kill or hurt other mandalorians so this makes sense. It also allows us to rule out a whole list of things that the armorer definitely didn’t forge for Grogu. Thinks like Blades, knives or spikes almost certainly weren’t made. More likely, it would be something defensive.
The first option is a sort of chainmail helmet for the child, which would protect him in battle from both Lightsaber strikes and blaser bolts. We did see a long line of chain links fall when the armorer was construction the piece for Grogu, so this is a possibility. Although the package that she gave to Mando was pretty small and im not sure a chainmail helmet or body could fit in there, even with the tiny size of Grogu.
