Why Yaddle Did NOT Attend Qui-Gon’s Funeral | Star Wars 1

Yaddle, a Force-sensitive female being of the same species as Grand Master Yoda, was a Jedi Master and member of the Jedi High Council during the last years of the Galactic Republic. She trained a Thisspiasian Padawan, Oppo Rancisis, who eventually joined Yaddle on the High Council by the time of the Invasion of Naboo.

In 32 BBY, Qui-Gon Jinn brought the Chosen One Anakin Skywalker to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant where he met Yaddle and the Jedi elders. After the Battle of Naboo, Yaddle took a less active role in the Jedi Order‘s affairs and was no longer on the High Council by the time of the Clone Wars.

In 14 BBY, Yaddle was remembered and mentioned by name by the Latero pilot Greez Dritus, who speculated on her fate during the Great Jedi Purge with his Jedi associates. In 12 BBY, the Sith Lord Darth Vader encountered apparitions of several Jedi, including Yaddle, while experiencing a series of Force visions.

In this Star Wars theory video, we look at Yaddle and why she didn’t attend the funeral of Qui-Gon Jinn in the Phantom Menace. Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and members of the Jedi Council appeared by she wasn’t there. Grogu (Baby Yoda) from the Mandalorian might be Yaddle’s son and hopefully Lucasfilm and Disney+ expand her story further in the Mandalorian Season 3 or the Ahsoka series (with Rosario Dawson) going forward. It’s down to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau to tell that story.
