In this Star Wars news update, we look at the Rancor Muchi from the Bad Batch Episode 5 «Rampage». Lucasfilm have finally confirmed she is not the same Rancor we saw Luke Skywalker destroy in Return of the Jedi. The Clone Wars spin-off by Lucasfilm and Dave Filoni started on May 4th. This episode had easter eggs to Return of the Jedi, Jabba the Hutt, Bib Fortuna etc, Darth Maul comics, the Mandalorian, The Empire Strikes Back, the Clone Wars and more. Hunter and the rest of Clone Force 99 sought to find out who Fennec Shand was sent by in order to capture Omega on the behalf of the Kaminoans. Was it Boba Fett or another Bounty Hunter? Wrecker’s headache was another persistent theme in this episode.
The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. The show will give us a new perspective of the rise of Palpatine, Order 66 and what happened after the Clone Wars. The show will even feature Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand and Captain Rex – maybe even Ahsoka Tano or Darth Vader! The Bad Batch is one of the many series announced by Kathleen Kennedy at Disney Investor Day 2020 as well as The Mandalorian Season 3, Star Wars: Ahsoka, Rangers of the New Republic, Lando, Cassian Andor and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
