In this Star Wars news update, we look at the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series and a tease given by Ewan McGregor for the upcoming Lucasfilm, Disney+ and Star Wars series. He will not be wearing the same Jedi robes we saw him in during Revenge of the Sith and later in A New Hope. We also talk about the possibility of Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau creating a Luke Skywalker series to replace Rangers of the New Republic after Gina Carano was fired.
I also discuss JJ Abrams as he reflects on the Rise of Skywalker, The Force Awakens, the Sequel trilogy on the whole and more! The Obi-Wan Kenobi Series is an upcoming series that was announced by Kathleen Kennedy during Disney Investor Day 2020. It is set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and will explore what happened before a New Hope and even Star Wars Rebels when Kenobi faces Darth Maul. It be the rematch of the century between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. Hayden Christensen has been cast to reprise his role as newly anointed Darth Vader in the wake of the creation of the Galactic Empire under the rule of Darth Sidious. The series will feature Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan during his exile on Tatooine. We might even see Ian McDiarmid as Emperor Palpatine and Liam Neeson as the force-ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn.
