The Book of Boba Fett drops December 2021 on Disney+ with the Mandalorian Season 3 coming out in 2022, according to Lucasfilm, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau! The Bad Batch is released on Star Wars Day – May 4th 2021!
In this Star Wars news update, we take a look at concept art for the Book of Boba Fett and how it was planned by Robert Rodriguez, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni to have Grogu (Baby Yoda) in the show from the start. The Mandalorian spin-off drops in December and apparently, Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy were impressed with the series as soon as it was conceptualised. Temuera Morrison returns as does Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). She will also feature in the Bad Batch which comes to Disney+ on May 4th.
We also discuss Boba Fett’s mentors and what they taught him which could feature in flashbacks throughout the series. This includes Jango Fett who was confirmed to be a Mandalorian foundling in the Mandalorian Season 2 Chapter 14 «The Tragedy» when he promised Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) to help rescue Baby Yoda from Moff Gideon. We could also get cameos of Cad Bane (an unfinished arc of the Clone Wars), Aurra Sing and of course Bossk of the Bounty Hunter’s Guild.
Another topic we speak about is the Thrawn Ascendency trilogy by Timothy Zahn who also wrote the Expanded Universe novels. The final installment Lesser Evil comes out in November, as officially announced by the official Star Wars website. We also discuss Lucasfilm who plans to include an Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Boba Fett fight scene in a future project!
