In today’s Star Wars news update, we talk about the potential chaos at Lucasfilm to do with Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy. Apparently, Favreau and Filoni are frustrated that they can’t have sole control over the Mandalorian and the Mando-verse in the direction they want to go in. This could have something to do with Gina Carano being fired and the potential loss of Pedro Pascal. We also speak about speculation for the third season of the live-action Star Wars, Lucasfilm and Disney+ show and how the show will be vastly different in Season 3.
In the Mandalorian Season 2 finale, a CGI Luke Skywalker took Grogu (Baby Yoda) to train him in the ways of the Jedi. Now that Baby Yoda is out of the way, the series needs to focus on Din Djarin (Mando), Mandalorian creed, history and tradition and follow the sub-plot of the Darksaber which Mando won from Moff Gideon in Chapter 16 «The Rescue», which Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) is desperate for. She led the Nite Owls and now, we are returning to Mandalore (as seen in The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels) for a very different Mandalorian season. Finally, I also discuss Kevin Feige and his upcoming Star Wars movie. It has now been confirmed that he will not be involved in any other Star Wars project – none of the ones announced at Disney Investor Day 2020. We have so many shows to look forward to.
Apart from Patty Jenkins’ movie Rogue Squadron, we have Obi Wan Kenobi, Star Wars: Ahsoka, Rangers of the New Republic, The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, The Acolyte, Lando, Star Wars: A Droid Story, The Mandalorian Season 3 and others, too! Taika Waititi will direct a movie in 2025 and many believe it will focus on the High Republic.
