The Mandalorian Season 2 has come to an end and Lucasfilm have announced a whole set of upcoming Star Wars shows and projects at Disney Investor Day 2020 including Rangers of the New Republic, Star Wars: Ahsoka, Andor, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi series and The Mandalorian Season 3 which drops on Disney+ in 2022 according to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau.
In this video, we look at an exciting new rumour that the Ahsoka Series will feature Grogu – Baby Yoda (The Child) from the Mandalorian. With Lucasfilm trying to expand the Mandalorian universe, Luke Skywalker and Grogu might run into Ahsoka Tano and reminisce about Anakin – her former master and Luke’s father. While it’s certain that Rosario Dawson will reprise the role of the Togruta ex-Jedi Ahsoka Tano, there have been previous rumors of Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger appearing in the series, the World Between Worlds as we saw in Star Wars: Rebels could retcon the Sequel Trilogy and place it on an alternate timeline to the Mandalorian and how Hayden Christensen could appear as Anakin Skywalker in the form of flashbacks or even as Darth Vader when Ahsoka fought him in Rebels before Ezra Bridger saved her.
Star Wars: Ahsoka features Rosario Dawson reprising her role as live-action former Jedi Ahsoka following her activity during the events of the Mandalorian Season 2 and 3. George Lucas, Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Peyton Reed, Robert Rodriguez and Kathleen Kennedy are all confirmed to be working on the series. Last week, we had exciting new details that confirmed Temuera Morrison will be reprising the role of Captain Rex in the series. He played Boba Fett in The Mandalorian and will play Commander Cody in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series but now we know he’ll be involved in Star Wars: Ahsoka as well. Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) will be the main antagonist for her.
We also discuss The Mandalorian Season 3 and how Lucasfilm will perhaps recast Luke Skywalker after having using a de-aged CGI Mark Hamill in the Mandalorian Season 2 finale – Chapter 16 «The Rescue». The Star Wars fan favourite seems to be Sebastian Stan who looks a lot like post- Return of the Jedi Luke. We also have The Mandalorian Season 3 news. A few days ago, we learned that Season 3 of the live-action Star Wars, Lucasfilm and Disney+ series would start filming on 5th April 2021. We speculate when we might get our first Mandalorian Season 3 trailer and when it will actually release on Disney+.
How will the Ahsoka show play in conjunction with The Mandalorian Season 3? The show will carry on in 2022 with Din Djarin having to face off with Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) for the Darksaber which he won in combat against the Imperial Remnant Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito’s character) and his Dark Troopers. Where will Season 3 take us? Will we head to Mandalore or follow Grogu become a Jedi? With the High Republic having just come out and with all of the Lucasfilm projects and shows, this is an amazing time to be part of the Star Wars fandom.
Finally, we talk about the Cassian Andor series where in the Sizzle Reel, we see a character concept art which looks like he is from the same species as Frog Lady from Season 2 of the live-action Star Wars, Lucasfilm and Disney+ series: The Mandalorian.
