The Mandalorian Season 2 has come to an end and Lucasfilm have announced a whole set of upcoming Star Wars shows and projects at Disney Investor Day 2020 including Rangers of the New Republic, Star Wars: Ahsoka, Andor, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi series and The Mandalorian Season 3 which drops on Disney+ in 2022 according to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau.
In this video, we are looking at the upcoming Ahsoka Tano spin-off series which features Rosario Dawson reprising her role as live-action former Jedi Ahsoka following her activity after Star Wars: Rebels and during the events of the Mandalorian. George Lucas, Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy are all confirmed to be working on the series. Now we have exciting new details that confirm Temuera Morrison will be reprising the role of Captain Rex in the series. He played Boba Fett in The Mandalorian and will play Commander Cody in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series but now we know he’ll be involved in Star Wars: Ahsoka as well. Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger will also feature as Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) will be the main antagonist for the ex-Jedi.
We also look at news that confirms that Liam Neeson will be reprising the role of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in the Kenobi series alongside Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. This will be his first appearance since The Phantom Menace and is likely to feature in the form of flashbacks and as a force ghost.
Further, we talk about Dagobah which might be a location that Luke Skywalker (CGI Mark Hamill) will take Grogu (Baby Yoda) in the Mandalorian Season 3. It is where Luke met Yoda in the Empire Strikes Back but now, Season 3 of the live-action Star Wars, Lucasfilm and Disney+ show could involve the cave of evil on Dagobah. There have been lots of rumors for the Mandalorian Season 3 and Grogu’s future with Luke Skywalker at Luke’s Jedi Academy prior to Ben Solo being born. Was Grogu Luke’s first apprentice? Could Baby Yoda turn to the dark side or will he reunite with Din Djarin (Mando – Pedro Pascal) to become a force-sensitive Mandalorian Jedi.
How will the Ahsoka show play in conjunction with The Mandalorian Season 3? The live-action Star Wars, Lucasfilm and Disney+ show will carry on in 2022 with Din Djarin (Mando – Pedro Pascal) having to face off with Bo-Katan for the Darksaber which he won in combat against the Imperial Remnant Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito’s character) and his Dark Troopers. Where will Season 3 take us? Will we head to Mandalore with Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff)?
