The cover of the Microsoft Store has leaked a new Star Wars game. This is Star Wars: Squadrons, a title that could correspond to that Project Maverick also leaked.
A new yet unannounced Star Wars video game has appeared on the cover of the Microsoft Store and has not yet – as of this writing – not been removed by the company from the web. This is Star Wars: Squadrons, a title that clearly looks like a spaceship-style piloting game, perhaps from what Star Wars: Rogue Squadron was proposing.
Star Wars: Squadrons could be related to Project Maverick, a title that was leaked last March on the PS Store and of which we learned shortly after that it was being developed by EA Motive. If it is the same project, we are talking about that Star Wars: Squadrons will be a bet for multiplayer although it will stand out, above all, for being a more experimental and smaller title than we are used to seeing Electronic Arts.
In the leaked image we can see two Star Wars pilots, one from the Empire and the other with the rebel outfit, in the foreground, accompanied by several iconic ships from the George Lucas saga. Both the illustration and the name make it clear that this new game will take us to pilot these famous space vehicles.
At the end of last month several sources assured that EA Motive is planning to present this game in early June, specifically on Day 2, and perhaps this is what has caused the leak in the Microsoft Store. Those rumors began when the studio released its first message on its recently released Twitter account, anticipating news in the future. At that time well-known journalists such as Jason Schreier or Jeff Grubb hinted that this EA Motive game would indeed be Project Maverick.
