Palpatine was thrown down the shaft in Return of the Jedi by Darth Vader, and survived as we saw in Star Wars Episode 9 The Rise of Skywalker. How did he do this? Did he go splat and then force heal? Did he do something else? We now know from the Rise of Skywalker novelization. I think this all ties in with Baby Yoda and The Mandalorian. I believe it’s a way for the Empire to splice genes of The Child and see if they can make a vessel worthy for the Emperor to live forever after transferring his essence.
